Today is the day

Today is the day that I start a blog. If you knew me, you would say that it's been a long time coming. I've been an avid/obsessive blog reader for about 8 years now, which officially makes me old. To give you an idea of how obsessed I was (read: still am), I gave up blogs for lent one year in college because I was spending entirely too much time reading them. It was rough.

I'm not entirely sure why it's taken me so long to start a blog, but it is what it is. The final push actually came from a post that I found the other day. I was perusing a weekend links post by one of my favorite bloggers, Elise Blaha. Apparently, she found the link via another blog (Joy the Baker), which makes the world very small because my friend Abby frequents Joy's blog. Abby has been a major inspiration to me as I've debated starting a blog. You can (and should) check out her blog here. Okay, I just went a little link crazy, but I can't help but share the love.

ANYWAYS, the post I started talking about before rambling (read: gushing) about other bloggers was the icing on the cake. I may not be a DIY queen or have amazing photography skills or be a graphic designer or even have perfect grammar all of the time (notice my run-on sentence...), but I have a things to say. And starting today, I will say them.
